5-Step Guide to Buying a Bike on eBay

If you’re looking to purchase a new motorcycle, searching online can provide you with access to some great value deals. eBay continues to provide one of the most commonly-used platforms for such transactions, but you need to be well-researched if you intend to be successful in your endeavours there. We’ve put together a step-by-step guide to assist:

Step 1 – Research Bikes

Initially, you’ll need an idea of what sort of bike you actually want to buy. This will be influenced by the budget you have available and how flexible you’re likely to be when it comes to searching via eBay. Other things to also consider will include how regularly you’ll want to use your new bike and how you plan to get it delivered once you’ve bought it.

Step 2 – Carefully Consider the Seller

The next step is arguably the most important. Sadly, there are always people who look to exploit services such as eBay, by attempting to scam potential buyers. You can do a number of things to avoid such individuals.

If you’ve found a bike you like, ask the seller to send specific photos; as well as a scan or photograph of the logbook. This can help you verify their personal details and confirm their integrity. Further to this, ask lots of questions and be sure to check eBay for feedback.

Step 3 – Arrange for Motorcycle Transport and Delivery

Once you’ve struck up a deal, you’ll need to think about how you actually intend to get your bike. To ensure that it arrives safely, our motorcycle transport service is perfectly-placed to provide the help that you need.

Reasonably priced and extremely efficient, it’s available to bikers living throughout the UK. Our experienced team can pick your bike up from the seller in question and carefully transport it to you in as little as 7 days.

Step 4 – Allow Us to Confirm the Exchange of Money

To remove any worries that you may have, you can also arrange via ourselves and the seller for money to be exchanged only once your bike is loaded onto our van. This would incur an additional charge, but the extra comfort that it can provide to you is surely worth the costs incurred.

Step 5 – Enjoy Your New Bike

Now you can look forward to the best bit – enjoying your new bike. As long as you’re careful, the online buying process can actually be pretty seamless, so the whole thing really shouldn’t be too stressful. Once we’ve delivered your bike to you, you’re free to head out onto the open road and make the most of your new purchase.

I have purchased a Lexmoto 125 Scooter. I saw it on eBay but it was purchased direct from Shropshire cycles and I think it’s a copy of what it should be
